Teens charged over luxury car thefts

Police have charged four teenage boys after two luxury cars were allegedly stolen across South East Queensland.

It is alleged that about 12.40pm on Sunday, a grey Maserati Grecale and black Porsche Macan were stolen from a house in Waitomo St at Broadbeach Waters on the Gold Coast.

Police sighted the two cars travelling east on the Logan Motorway and began their pursuit.

A Polair helicopter joined the search efforts and tracked the cars southbound onto the M1 Motorway.

About 3.30pm, the pursuit ended when the Maserati became stuck on a median strip at Cayuga St in Nerang and officers arrested the two occupants.

The Porsche stopped a short time later in Benalla Court at Arundel and two teenage boys were taken into custody.

A 15-year-old Coomera boy has been charged with three counts of entering a dwelling and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlicensed driving and possession of a dangerous drug.

A 16-year-old Oxenford boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of entering a dwelling, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

Another 15-year-old Coomera boy has been charged with one count of entering a dwelling and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 16-year-old Pimpama boy has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All four boys will appear in the Southport Children's Court on Monday.
