Pictured: Teen P-plater killed in horror crash
A teenage driver is dead and three others remain in hospital after a horror crash in Western Sydney.
The 18-year-old girl was killed when the car she was driving crashed into a tree on the Horsley Drive at Wetherill Park shortly after 11pm on Thursday.
The teenager has since been identified as Selina Bennetts Ly.
It’s understood Ms Ly was on her provisional licence and carrying four passengers- two boys aged 16 and 17 and two girls aged 17 and 19 - who were each taken to hospital stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
A NSW Police spokesman confirmed one passenger was treated for spinal injuries, another for a broken arm and fractured rib.
The third passenger had a broken nose, a broken tooth and a fractured jaw, while the fourth passenger suffered a pelvic fracture and back injury.
It’s understood Ms Ly crossed onto a median strip and collided with a tree.
Police have since launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
Anyone with dashcam footage is being urged to contact police.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Ms Ly’s death brings NSW road toll to 150 lives lost in 2024, 23 more than this time last year.
