Police are investigating after a teenager was found injured with a suspected gunshot wound in Melbourne’s north.

A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed emergency services were called to Zakwell Court in Coolaroo at about 10.30pm on Friday after a man, aged in his late teens, was found with a suspected gunshot wound to his torso.

“He has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” the spokesperson said.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established and an investigation is underway.”

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirmed paramedics were called to Coolaroo at about 10.25pm to a report of an incident.

“A teenaged male was treated by Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedics for a lower body injury and was taken to hospital in a stable condition,” the spokesperson said.
