Teen accused of sexually assaulting woman and attacking baby


A man will reappear in court after he allegedly forced his way into a home, sexually assaulted a young woman and attacked her baby.

Police were called to the Wagga Wagga home in NSW just before 5pm on Friday to reports the man had got in to the unit.

Police allege he sexually assaulted a 29-year-old mother before leaving. Her eight-month-old baby was also allegedly assaulted.

After alerting her husband of the incident, the family reported the incident at Wagga Wagga police station.

On Saturday, officers conducted a search warrant at a unit complex on Day Street and arrested an 18-year-old man.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter, and committing a serious indictable offence, aggravated sexual assault and choking.

He was refused bail and appeared before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Sunday.

He will reappear at the same court on Wednesday.
