Tarik Cohen tears ACL days after contract extension
Cohen went down in the fourth quarter while attempting to call a fair catch on a punt return. As he caught the ball and took a step with his right foot, Falcons running back Brian Hill collided awkwardly into Cohen’s leg, which drew a penalty.
Cohen was helped off the field and eventually carted to the locker rooms at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and did not return. He finished with 21 rushing yards on two carries and had 20 receiving yards on three receptions in the win.
The 25-year-old signed a three-year extension with the Bears just eight days ago, one that could be worth up to $18.25 million. Cohen, who the Bears picked up in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft, will end his year with 74 rushing yards on 14 carries.
