Woman's sickening discovery on CCTV

A revolting thief has been captured on security footage allegedly urinating in a family’s pool just moments before breaking into their home.

The disgusting act allegedly took place in Westcourt, near Cairns, on the night of April 22, while a male member of the family was asleep inside.

Video of two men believed to be connected to the incident was shared to Facebook by Bronwyn Longley – the daughter of the couple whose home was targeted.

“Two so-called ‘adults’ successfully broke into my parents’ home, but before they did, one of them decided to urinate in the pool!,” Ms Longley alleged.

She said the whole family, including children, frequently swam in the pool, describing the brazen trespassers as “disgusting beings”.

Speaking with Yahoo News Australia, Ms Longley said her cousin was house sitting for her parents at the time, and was in the room next to the door they allegedly broke in through.

“He said he hasn’t slept much, if [at all], since [the break-in]... They cut a hole through the backdoor screen which was located next to the room he was sleeping in, so he is quite shaken up,” she said.

Ms Longley said, strangely, the men didn’t appear to steal anything substantial from the home – instead allegedly drinking a bottle of Sprite they found in the fridge and walking through the home wearing muddy shoes.

“The two that broke in looked through the food cupboards and fridge; by the looks of it they only took a bottle of Sprite to drink while they were in the house because they had left it downstairs before they took off,” she told Yahoo News Australia.

“They walked through the house, mainly to the main bedroom. We know because they left mud tracks all through the house.

“They looked through strange spots, like the box the TV remotes sit in and the boxes downstairs.”

Queensland Police confirmed one man had been arrested and charged with breaking and entering in relation to the incident, while a second suspect was still at large.
