Monday is the first day of the October half term for many school students in England, providing a one-week break for most schools.

The term began on September 4 in England and after this breather, it will be another few weeks until the Christmas period begins.

With clocks going back, students will really be set for the onset of winter when they return - especially once Halloween and Bonfire night celebrations are complete in London.

But there is plenty to look forward to with Christmas fayres and celebrations just around the corner.

Here are the full-term dates, and look out for when the English dates do not line up with those in other parts of the UK.
