As the cooler months roll in and kids start wearing their winter coats to school, it means that it’s almost time for the October half-term.
Every October, schoolchildren around the country get another week off from their studies to relax away from the classroom. During this time, kids can get started on their Halloween costumes and prepare for upcoming evenings of sparklers and bonfire activities.
It’s also a great time to squeeze in a quick family holiday if you were unable to get away during the summer months.
The October half term falls at the end of October, between Monday, October 23 and Friday, October 27. This is just before the clocks go back and winter really sets in.
However, it’s important to also check the exact dates with your child’s school, as the holidays may vary based on your location. Other parts of the UK, including Scotland and Wales, mark different half-term dates.
To confirm the exact dates of your school’s half-term holidays, enter your postcode into the Gov website to be directed to local school holiday schedules.
