Stranger's 'cold-hearted' response to woman who dropped coffee on footpath
If you’re someone who relies on that morning caffeine hit, this one is going to sting a little bit.
A driver stuck at a red light outside a cafe in the Perth suburb of Northbridge last week just happened to catch a devastatingly cruel act that left coffee drinkers across the country hurting.
Walking out of the coffee shop on the corner of Newcastle Street and Beaufort Street, a female customer tries to juggle her drink and food in one hand while putting her sunglasses on with the other.
It’s then things start to go wrong. The once balancing coffee begins to slide from the customer’s grasp and decend towards the footpath.
In what can only be described as a gift from the coffee gods themselves, the lid fails to break free and it appears for a brief moment that this story might have a happy ending.
But just as she gets into position to retrieve the cup, the unthinkable happens.
A stranger emerges from around the corner and gives the cup a kick just big enough to see its caffeinated goodness spread across the concrete.
“I just felt sorry for her. It’s enough to make you lose a little faith in society,” the driver who filmed the incident wrote on Facebook.
Social media users, many of whom have condemned the stranger’s “cold-hearted” actions, pleaded with the victim to come forward so they could each buy her next coffee.
