'So weird': Family finds hidden room in home after three years

A family has found a room hidden behind a closet three years after moving into the home.

Abriana Cristel, from the US, shared the discovery on her TikTok and explained her mother had broken down the closet wall when they unearthed the room, which was never completed.

She explained in the caption of the TikTok, which at the time of writing has been viewed more than 550,000 times, she and her family had lived in the home for three years.

“This is so weird,” someone is heard saying in the video.

In another TikTok, Ms Cristel explained her mother’s boyfriend was moving in, which was why they had decided to extend the closet.

The hidden room was never completed, but it appeared it was intended to be another bathroom, bedroom and closet.

Ms Cristel has gone on to make a series of videos displaying the hidden rooms, in one video she admits it is awkwardly laid out.

One of the rooms has a fan and markings on the floor indicating piping and there are windows, which caused people to question how they didn’t notice the hidden part of the house sooner.

“Did y’all never notice the window to nowhere?” one person asked, to which Ms Cristel said there were two windows she and her family could “never get to”.

“I’m impressed this took three years, if I see a window but I can’t get inside I’m breaking all the walls on day two,” someone else said.

“Lol we gave up on trying to find where the windows led and eventually and randomly we found this,” Ms Cristel said.

Then came the conspiracy theories about why the unfinished rooms were bordered up with drywall.

“Anyone else thinking the old homeowners trapped a spirit in the room and built the wall to hide it in there... or is it just me?” one person theorised.

“Has no one seen Hill House?” another questioned.

A few people in the comments said they previously had dreams about a hidden part of a house, which they allege look just like the rooms Ms Cristel found.

On a lighter note, people are very happy for Ms Cristel’s mother who now has a very large walk-in closet.
