Emergency services arrived at the scene at the intersection of Arthur Street and Richmond Street, where a woman was treated for minor injuries.

According to police, the crash had removed the fleeing driver’s windscreen, complete with the vehicle’s registration, allowing officers to track down the driver.

A 22-year-old man has since been charged with careless driving and will appear at the Blenheim District Court on May 30.
