Six hospitalised after severe turbulence on Thai Airways flight

A plane flying from Jakarta to Bangkok was rattled by turbulence so extreme, that six people had to be hospitalised after the flight landed on Monday.

The aisles of the Thai Airways plane were littered with pillows and rubbish and one seat even appeared to be covered in blood, with dark red strains covering the seatbelt and upholstery.

Among the injured were one passenger and five crew members.

A member of the cabin crew, Kru P’Birth, shared photos of the aftermath on his Facebook page and detailed how the passenger was injured.

The flight attendant said a male passenger didn’t fasten his seatbelt and was sent airborne in the violent turbulence, hitting his head on the ceiling of the plane.
