There has been a dramatic turn in the search for a woman missing from SA’s Streaky Beach region for over a week.

A woman missing from South Australia’s west coast for over a week has been found following a desperate search by authorities.

Queensland woman Julie was last seen about 5pm on the evening of May 7 at an address on Alfred Terrace in Streaky Bay.

Five days of searching the coast had failed to find any sign of her.

On Sunday, an SA Police spokesman said the 42-year-old had been located north of Streaky Bay.

“Julie is currently receiving medical treatment and members of Julie’s family have been advised of her safe return,” the spokesman said.

“Police would like to again thank members of the public and emergency services for their assistance.”

Police and Julie’s family held concerns for her welfare, with her initial movements being captured on CCTV.

The shocking disappearance prompted a tearful plea from her husband, Clifford, who told 9 News on Friday he was “falling apart”.

“It‘s just completely bewildering why she … yeah we just don’t know what’s happened,” he said.
