Get ready to throw a celebratory waffle dance party, as Severance has just teased its season 2 with some new footage.

The Apple TV+ dystopian series has been certainly taking its time to provide fans with some answers to the bonkers twists of its first, acclaimed season.

As the thriller is set to return for brand new episodes, the streamer has released images of Adam Scott as Mark Scout, an employee at Lumon who undergoes a surgical procedure to separate his work memories from his non-work life.

Some moments of season 2 are included in Apple TV+'s promo clip for its upcoming TV slate, which also contains scenes from returning series Shrinking, Silo, Slow Horses and Pachinko, as well as new shows like Presumed Innocent and Lady in the Lake.

The first glimpses at Severance season 2 see Mark being greeted by the ever-smiling severed floor supervisor Seth Milchick (Tramell Tillman), who ominously says, "Been a minute".

At the 45-second mark in the video above, the show offers a kaleidoscopic, flickery montage of Mark as he lays on the board room table in different outfits, suggesting a short circuit from his Innie to Outie form.

Later on, he can be seen running down the sinister, immaculate corridors of the Lumon offices, before he tries to stop the elevator doors closing right in his face as he yells "Wait!" to an unseen person.

While it appears it won't be very long till we find out what creepy, unethical affairs Lumon has been up to, Apple TV+ hasn't confirmed a release date for Severance season 2 just yet.

What we do know at present is that the already-stacked cast – also featuring Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette and Christopher Walken to name but a few – boasts some brilliant additions to its sophomore season.

Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie is joining the show, together with John Noble, Alia Shawkat, Merritt Wever, Bob Balaban, Robby Benson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Stefano Carannante.

Severance season 1 is streaming on Apple TV+. A release date for season 2 is TBA.
