Serious crash shuts down entire intersection

Emergency services have responded to a serious collision between a car and a bike that shut down an Adelaide intersection.

Police have warned drivers to avoid the area, with major traffic diversions in place.

SA Police were called to Greenhill Rd and Fullarton Rd in Eastwood, a suburb in inner-south Adelaide, about 7.30am on Monday following reports a car and a cyclist were involved in a collision.

SA Ambulance Service also attended the scene and treated the cyclist for a fractured femur. They were later transported to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Traffic restrictions are in place after the intersection was briefly closed, with no access allowed.

Southbound traffic on Fullarton Rd is blocked and being diverted east and west on to Greenhill Rd.

Motorists on northbound traffic on Fullarton Rd are unable to take right turns and can only go straight or turn left.
