Do you see it? Viral video shows boy's reflection 'moving faster' than him

A seemingly harmless video of a little boy looking at his own reflection in a mirror has gone viral, after viewers claim the boy’s reflection moves faster than him.

The public is divided over whether this is a glimpse into another dimension, or a simple optical illusion.

Footage shows a young boy poking out his tongue at floor length mirror, turning and walking away. However, his reflection appears to turn and leave faster than the real boy.

Twitter user Jolynn posted the video on Monday with the caption “is it jus (sic) me or did his reflection walk away quicker den (sic) he did?”.

“The more I watch this, the crazier it gets,” Jolynn posted.

The five-second-long video has had over 3.78 million views since it was posted several days ago.

Social media users speculated about the cause of the ghostly reflection.

“I haven’t been this scared since I was 12,” one Twitter user said.

“Possibly twins?” another user said.

“It’s the angle it has to be the angle,” one user posted.

“It’s called a rolling shutter. The camera records from left to right, it doesn’t capture the entire picture all at once,” one cluey user said.

Jolynn realised the true cause of the illusion a day later.

“Y’all , I get its the angle the mirror was in and I was in,” Jolynn posted on Twitter.

“I jus (sic) didn’t know the video was gonna (sic) blow up”.
