Search for man who 'masturbated in front of teen girls' at famous Aussie beach

Police in Victoria are seeking witnesses to two separate incidents at Melbourne beaches.

A search is underway to locate a man who allegedly exposed himself to teen girls at one of Australia's most famous beaches.

Police in Victoria allege the man began masturbating on two separate occasions at Melbourne's St Kilda beach and nearby Middle Park beach.

Authorities have released images of a man they believe will be able to help with investigations.

Police allege an 18-year-old and 19-year-old were approached on the beach along Beaconsfield Parade in Middle Park by an unknown male on Boxing Day last year.

He allegedly laid down on the beach near the women before exposing himself and masturbating.

Two weeks later, two 16-year-old girls and a 15-year-old girl were near the water on St Kilda beach when they noticed a male staring at them from the water on January 8, Victoria Police say.

The male walked toward them, allegedly exposing himself, and began masturbating.

In both incidents the man only stopped his behaviour when the females started filming him on their phones, police say.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his 50s with a solid build, bald head and grey beard.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online.
