Volkswagen comes clean on dirty diesels in Australia

Volkswagen has lifted the lid on how its diesel emissions scandal affects Australian customers.

More than 77,000 Volkswagen and ŠKODA vehicles in Australia are affected and it has taken the company weeks to tell us.

Eight Volkswagen passenger models have been identified including the Golf, Passat and Tiguan.

Of its commercial fleet, the Caddy and Amarok are on the list.

Just over 5000 ŠKODA cars have been caught up in the scandal too, including the Octavia and Yeti models.

Costumers can check if they’re affected on the company’s website.

The German car giant is yet to advice what action will be taken but says it wants to assure drivers their cars are safe, even if they don’t meet emissions standards.
