Team Enzo take on City to Bay to help little champion
Little Enzo Cornejo is the only Australian diagnosed with the rapid aging disease "progeria".
Enzo's illness might see him lose his hair, weaken his bones and put him at risk of heart disease and stroke, while leaving him with a life expectancy of 13 years.
Since he was diagnosed last year, Enzo has won the hearts of his carers at Warradale Community Children’s Centre who want the best for him.
"He's part of our family, we're part of his family," Stephanie Bilsborow told 7 News.
"He makes us smile and brightens our day."
His carers and family are setting out on Adelaide's City to Bay Fun Run on Sunday to help raise funds to send Enzo overseas for treatment with the hope of finding a cure and extending his life.
The charitable fun runners have a GoFundMe page to raise money for their little champion, with his mother Catherina Llontop saying she is overwhelmed by the support.
"To find a word to define all the support is very hard. How blessed we fell," she said.
Donations can be made at Team Enzo (City to Bay) GoFundMe.
