Ryan Reynolds makes cheeky joke about Blake’s home energy
Ryan Reynolds has cheekily joked his wife keeps him active when he gets home.
The ‘Deadpool’ actor, 47, who has four children with his 36-year-old actress partner, made a gag about her energy after attending the premiere of his new film ‘If’.
He said when asked about what it was like to go home to Blake at the event in New York: “(She’s) not a slouch, that’s for sure.
“My mission in life is to get home to be with my kids.”
The couple, who are renowned for making fun of each other in their social media posts, have been married since 2012 and have daughters James, nine, Inez, seven, and Betty, four, as well as a one-year-old whose name and sex they have yet to reveal.
Ryan – who has admitted he has struggled to maintain his mental health – added being with his family helps his outlook.
Referring to his dad-of-two ‘If’ co-star Steve Carell’s love of a quiet family life, Ryan added: “It’s funny that I’m working with (him) because years ago somebody said to me, ‘Oh, you’re a real Steve Carell,’ and I was like, ‘What does that mean? I love Steve Carell. What does that mean?’
“(They were) like, ‘Oh, he’s always just, as soon as he’s done (at) work, there’s no socialising.
“There’s a Steve-sized hole in the wall, and he’s on his way to his kids.’
“That’s how I am.”
Family film ‘If’ – about a girl who realises she can see everyone’s imaginary friends – is out in cinemas on Friday. (17.05.24)
Ryan gushed over his domestic bliss after it was reported he and Blake missed the recent Met Gala to stay at home with their kids.
Blake has been such a regular at the event she was dubbed its “Queen”, but a source has claimed she opted for mum duties instead of hitting the red carpet at the do in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday. (06.05.24)
An insider told Elle: “The couple chose to spend their night at home, rather than on the red carpet.”
The outlet added Blake’s appearance at a Tiffany and Co event in New York the week before had been her “big fashion moment for early May”.
