Russia targets civilian facilities in Zaporizhzhya in latest mass missile and drone attack on Ukraine

Civilian facilities were hit in Zaporizhzhya Oblast as a result of the latest massive Russian attack on May 8, regional governor Ivan Fedorov reported.

"The Russians again massively attacked peaceful Zaporizhzhya," he said.

"They targeted critical and civil infrastructure facilities. There is destruction. Early reports indicate that there are no casualties."

Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector on the night and morning of May 8, using rockets, cruise and ballistic missiles.

Power generation and transmission facilities in the Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Vinnytsya oblasts were targeted, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said.
