Russia damaged Nikopol's Preobrazhensky Cathedral in a shelling on May 4, the day before Easter, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) announced.

The central entrance of the cathedral in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast is heavily damaged, with bullet holes appearing on the metal roof and several windows shattered.

The walls of the building were damaged by shrapnel, and the church shop was also destroyed.
