Rosamund Pike shares update after smashing her face up in a skiing accident
Rosamund Pike's chin "was completely messed up" as a result of her skiing accident.
The 44-year-old actress wore a veil to the Golden Globes earlier this month because she "smashed" her face up during an incident on the slopes over Christmas but upon arriving at the 2024 BAFTA Tea Party on Saturday (13.01.24) explained that her wound was "healing nicely" but did not plan to enter awards season in such a fashion.
She told People: "My chin was completely messed up. It is still a bit [messed up] underneath, but I'm not going to show you. If I showed you pictures on my phone from January the first, you would say, ‘Ahh,’ It is not what you want to do, smash your face up two weeks before the Golden Globes."
The 'Saltburn' star wore a floral Simone Rocha gown to the BAFTA event but just days ago was pictured wearing an all-black outfit complete with a decorative lace fascinator covering most of her face to hide her injuries.
When asked about her outfit, she told Variety: "It’s a protective veil for the occasion... well I had an accident over Christmas. I had a skiing had a skiing accident.
"Not what you want knowing you’re coming to the Golden Globes on the 7th of January. So on 26th December my face was entirely smashed up so I thought: 'I need to do something'. "
After planning her look to cover her injuries, Rosamund found that she had “healed” in time for the red carpet outing but she decided to keep the veil anyway because she "loved" the way it looked.
She added: "It's healed but I kind of fell in love with the look."
