RNC orders shelter in place for part of Cowan Heights neighbourhood in St. John's
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has issued a shelter in place order for residents in the Cowan Heights area of St. John's due to an ongoing police presence on Duntara Crescent.
The order includes Frecker Drive between Hamlyn Road and Cowan Avenue and Blackmarsh Road east of Harrington Drive.
The RNC issued the notice around 11:15 a.m. Thursday morning on social media, instructing people in the area to stay in their homes and for others to avoid the area.
Police have not provided any information about what has prompted the order, other than to note that officers responded to a call for service in the area.
