Rebel Wilson dazzles in 2k frock after transformation: 'Goddess'

Rebel Wilson has stunned fans after debuting a striking look for the British Film Institute Luminous Gala in London.

The Aussie star is currently promoting her newest film The Almond and the Seahorse which marks her first dramatic role.

She opted for a bright fuchsia dress with a plunging neckline, made from satin with long sleeves.

The classic cut cinches in at the waist to accentuate Rebel’s svelte figure and gives off an air of elegance.

Rebel is a fan of designer Rhea Costa, so it’s no surprise that she chose their ’Angelina’ dress which costs approximately $1955 AUD.

The original style has a three-quarter sleeve, so the star’s stylist may have worked with the designer to lengthen it.

She chose a simple ponytail with curtain bangs framing her face, nude heels and a pink lip to finish off the look.

After sharing a carousel of snaps from the night on Instagram, it didn’t take long before her celebrity pals sent the star love.

“Gorgeous!” actress Melanie Griffith said, while Pitch Perfect star Shelley Regner added: “Exquisite.”

“REBEL!! MY JAW IS ON THE FLOOR!” exclaimed Senior Year star Joshua Colley.

Rebel’s fans were also shocked by how incredible she looked, with one calling her a ‘total goddess’.

“Wow! What an amazing transformation. You look absolutely stunning. Wow!” gushed a fan.

“This dress is one of the best I have seen you in for sure!” another added.

“You can tell how much work you’ve done!! Well done, great job and every pat on the back you deserve, you look healthy and happy!” a third remarked.

“How can you not adore her?! She’s so awesome. Give them that Blue Steel Rebel!” another chimed in.

The Senior Year star has been open about her 35kg weight loss during her ‘Year of Health’ in 2020.

At the BFI gala, she spoke candidly about receiving more drama roles after slimming down.

“I kind of feel like transitioning into different kinds of roles and into more dramatic roles and it’s really awesome. Of course I’ll still be doing comedies as well!” she told the PA news agency.

The Pitch Perfect star also had advice for other aspiring talent looking for their big break.

“My tip for up-and-coming talent is to just get out there and make things yourself. I came up before this digital era.

“So what I did is I produced my own plays and I worked in a shopping centre and made $2000 that I put into my first production and just put it on. That’s how I got noticed and that’s how I first got on TV,” she spilled.

The director of The Almond and the Seahorse recently spoke to Variety about the film, and said Rebel joined the cast just two days after reading the script.

“I think the world is gonna see Rebel in a way that they haven’t seen her before,” Celyn Jones told the publication.
