Raid gone wrong: Armed officers stun family in police bungle

A police raid bungle has left a family in shock after heavily armed officers stormed their Punchbowl home in an embarrassing mistake.

Half a dozen masked men, dressed in black and carrying guns, raided the Allamadine family home who were left confused and terrified at their Wattle Street address.

Resident Adel Alameddine says he is sickened to think about the effect the raid has had on his wife, sister-in-law, mother and children.

"My wife, honestly, my wife's from Lebanon, she's telling me she wants to go back overseas," he said.

"She can't live like this and this is Lebanon, a war torn country!"

However, when police then raided the right home, they found a gun.

While the house number was wrong, the intelligence was right.

Police apologised for the incident but the family has taken on a lawyer saying they do not want this to happen to anyone else.
