The RAF has issued an update following the tragic death of pilot Mark Long, who was killed when a Spitfire crashed at a Battle of Britain event in Lincolnshire on Saturday (25 May).
In a recorded video message, released on Sunday evening, Group Captain Robbie Lees, Commander Display Air Wing, said: “Mark was a Typhoon pilot here at RAF Coningsby and for the last four years he has been a pilot with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
“A great friend, colleague, and a passionate, professional aviator, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
