A man and woman have been charged for allegedly stealing a car with a child and puppy inside in Central Queensland.

It’s alleged the 35-year-old man and 22-year-old woman stole a Toyota Landcruiser from the carpark of hockey fields on Dawson Road, Gladstone on Friday 10pm.

The owners of the car were locking up the property when the vehicle was stolen, police said.

Inside the car was a four-year-old boy and a puppy.
