Mum 'kicked out of pub for before running over people'

A woman who was allegedly drunk when she ran down pedestrians with her car had just been kicked out of a Brisbane pub for fighting, police say.

Mother of three Lisa Jane Webber, 35, got angry after she was booted out of the Plough Inn, police say.

Ms Webber then allegedly got behind the wheel of a car and began hurling abuse at passing pedestrians.

Jared McKewin and three friends were on their way to a concert when he claims she “spun her wheels directly” at them.

He said he stepped back but his friend Marcus was hit.

“The doctor came over, paramedic came over, security guard said ‘we got the number plate’, because I didn't know what was going on I wanted to make sure Marcus was alright,” Mr McKewin said.

It’s alleged Ms Webber then drove down Little Stanley Street and almost hit another person before speeding through a roundabout.

She allegedly continued driving another 129km to Toowoomba after drinking at the pub since 3pm.

The mum was arrested on Sunday about 8.30pm.

Ms Webber claims that during the fight at the Plough Inn she was kicked and hit her head on the ground. In court, her lawyer offered this as a possible explanation for her erratic behaviour.

She was granted bail after undergoing psychiatric tests.
