Police in Queensland reportedly fire shots while trying to arrest man

Shots have reportedly been fired by police outside a McDonald's in Central Queensland on Friday morning.

According to the ABC, Inspector Ian Haughton said officers were trying to apprehend a man who was thought to have been in a vehicle at the time and is wanted on a return to prison order.

"Police did discharge some firearms in an attempt to disable that vehicle," Inspector Ian Haughton said.

The man allegedly fled the area and it is believed he is still at large.

"The person is a high-risk offender and could be armed," Inspector Ian Haughton said.
