Students injured in chemical incident

Two students have been injured in a chemical incident at North Lakes State College.

Two teenagers have been burned after a playground experiment went wrong at North Lakes State College in Queensland.

Emergency services were called to the school around 11.30am (AEST) on Tuesday after the students ignited a container of nail polish during their lunch break.

A 17-year-old boy sustained superficial burns to his face and was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

He was later released.

His 16-year-old friend was taken to a local GP, where he was treated for minor hand injuries.
