Qantas has revealed it will add more than 60 additional flights between Melbourne and Sydney to manage the increased demand caused by Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

More than 11,000 seats will be made available on the new services, while some trans-Tasman services will be upgraded from a Boeing 737 to a larger A330 aircraft.

The move will mean all interstate travel can be accommodated for all fans.

The additional flights are scheduled for take off between February 15 and February 27, 2024.

Swift will perform in Melbourne from February 16-18 and Sydney from February 23-26.

The sharp spike in demand saw a 1500 per cent increase in domestic bookings last week, compared to the same time last year, coinciding with the release of pre-sale and general tickets for the singer’s tour down under.

A Qantas spokesperson said the 60 additional flights would make it easier for ticketholders to travel to concert locations, making their “wildest dreams come true”.

“Our lowest fares have a reputation for selling out quickly, so our advice for any concertgoers is to book as soon as possible,” they said.

Classic Flight Reward seats will still be available during the concert weeks and ticketholders can put Qantas Points towards accommodation at specific hotels in Sydney and Melbourne.

The additional flights will include 24 flights between Sydney and Melbourne, 20 flights between Sydney/Melbourne and Adelaide and eight flights between Sydney/Melbourne and Christchurch.

They are available for booking now.
