Frequent flyers can ensure their points balance and flying status reaches new heights with a fresh offer from Australia’s national carrier.

Kicking off on Wednesday, Qantas’ new double status credit or double points offer will allow Qantas members who book flights over the next seven days to either double their status credits or double their Qantas points.

Qantas members who book any Qantas flight across the carrier’s regional, domestic or international network between February 28 this year and February 14, 2025 are eligible to reap the rewards of the latest deal and boost their credits and points.

Status credits allow members to move up through the airlines’s status tiers of silver, gold, platinum and platinum one, and can typically only be earnt by flying.

The new deal means members who opt to use the double status credits offer could move from bronze to silver just by booking two return Melbourne to Brisbane flights in Business or two return Sydney to Singapore flights in economy.

A Qantas spokesperson said the deal had previously been popular among Qantas members who quickly saw the benefits of the offer.

“Our members tell us that double points and status credits is one of their favourite offers of the year,” they said.

“It helps fast track their progress to a higher status tier, which in turn unlocks additional benefits when they are travelling around the country or globe, from lounge access to increased baggage allowances.

“For those who choose double Qantas points, it can provide them with a future trip, help with an upgrade to a premium seat on their next flight, or give them a shopping spree for anything from a new handbag to the latest noise cancelling headphones from Qantas Marketplace.”

The airline said a Qantas member previously used the offer to pre-plan their travel and book 68 flights.

The passenger earnt a staggering 12,300 status credits, which was enough to move from bronze to platinum one status more than three times over.
