Project lures Rove home
Perth comedian Rove McManus will return to Australia for a few months to be a regular guest host on The Project.
McManus will take a seat alongside co-hosts Carrie Bickmore and Peter Helliar from Monday and he'll be behind the desk on the Ten show until December.
It's the second time this year McManus has occupied a chair on The Project, having come home from the US in May to nestle in alongside Bickmore and Helliar.
McManus, who is based in Los Angeles, was technically out of a TV job after his latest US venture, Riot, lasted only a few weeks before it was axed last month.
Riot was produced by Hollywood funnyman Steve Carell and was based on the Australian light-entertainment family series Slide Show, which was inspired by a French program.
"It was fantastic being back doing live TV with Carrie and Pete in May and I couldn't resist the opportunity to return and co-host again for a few months," McManus said. "Plus I think I left my phone charger in the dressing room."
He said he looked forward to being on the panel for the rest of the year.
"Everyone involved does such a tremendous job putting the show together. And even better for me, I'm essentially working with friends every day."
