Prison guard loses job after pretending to be police officer for $10 McDonald's discount

A prison guard who impersonated a police officer to get a fast food discount has been sacked for the sake of $10.

Lawrence O’Driscoll-Faitaua appeared in Waverley Court, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, on Tuesday.

He plead guilty to asking for a police discount at the Kingsford McDonalds last month.

The discount entitled him to 50 per cent off the price of his fast food meal.

O’Driscoll-Faitaua saved $10 on a Big Mac and nuggets, but staff queried his identification and then reported him to genuine police officers.

He was convicted on a charge of impersonating a police officer but was granted a section 10 non-conviction in court.
