Prince Harry 'highly unlikely' to visit the Queen for her 96th birthday

Prince Harry is reportedly 'highly unlikely' to visit the Queen for her 96th birthday, despite the fact he will be in Europe the same week for the Invictus Games, a royal expert has revealed.

The Duke of Sussex is due to travel to the Netherlands soon with the Games taking place from April 16 to 22nd, meanwhile, Her Majesty will celebrate her 96th birthday on April 21st.

The Invictus Games is an international sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

Robert Jobson, co-author of Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, told The Mirror he believes Harry won't 'pop over to Britain' because of family tensions, "The reality is it is highly unlikely, given the schism he has caused in the family."

Robert also noted Harry will not receive security if he visits the UK as he once did as a senior royal, despite offering to pay for it himself.

The author suggested the Duke's claim he doesn't feel safe traveling to the UK with his family is "just another excuse".

Instead, he believes the real reason Harry is staying away is likely due to the tension surrounding his upcoming memoir, adding that he expects the biography to "tackle [Harry's] tricky relationship with the Duchess of Cornwall".

"Can you imagine how excruciating it would be over dinner if somebody was to ask what’s in the soon-to-be-published Random House book about them?" Robert said.

Harry's book, which is expected to be explosive, is due to be published later this year with the royal family thought to be deeply concerned about it.

The Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William are said to have been completely blindsided by the shock announcement he had been secretly working on his memoir.

If Harry doesn't visit his grandmother for her birthday it won't be the first family event he will have missed due to feeling unsafe with the Duke failing to join his family at his late grandfather's remembrance service in March.
