Popular tourist spot and city food court added to Covid warning list

A venue at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach and a busy CBD lunch destination have been added to the list of NSW Covid locations.

Visitors to a children’s soccer league game, a Fitness First gym and beach-side restaurant are required to get tested for Covid immediately and isolate even if the results are negative.

Meanwhile, patrons to the pool deck at Bondi Icebergs Club are to get tested and await further instructions from NSW Health.

NSW Health updated the list overnight as eight new cases were reported on Wednesday prompting NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to announce restrictions for Greater Sydney and the Northern Beaches over Christmas and Boxing Day.

Get tested immediately and self-isolate for 14 days regardless of result:

  • Alma Avalon Restaurant, Avalon Beach, December 16, 8.30pm until close.

  • Macquarie University Soccer Fields, Premier Academy League Under 8s, Macquarie Park, December 13, 9.15am – 10.45am.

  • Fitness First, Pittwater Place Shopping Centre, 17 December 17, All day.

Get tested immediately and isolate until NSW Health provides further information:

  • Bondi Icebergs Club (Pool Deck Level) Bondi Beach, Sunday 20 December 20, 8am – 9.30am; December 21 7am-8am.
