Here’s when polls close on Super Tuesday

More than a dozen states are holding presidential nominating contests and Senate and House elections on Super Tuesday, a crucial milestone in the 2024 election season.

Super Tuesday has more votes and delegates at stake than any other day of primary season.

Early and mail-in voting has already been underway in some states, but polls will begin to close across the country in several hours.

Here’s when the polls close:

Alabama

Polls close in Alabama at 7 p.m. local time.

Most of the state falls within the Central Time Zone, except for eastern portions of Alabama that observe Eastern time, Ballotpedia noted.

Alaska will hold its Republican caucus. Polls close in the state at 8 p.m. local time. Alaska is four hours behind the Eastern Time Zone.

Polls close in Arkansas at 7:30 p.m. Central time.

Polls close in California at 8 p.m. Pacific, three hours behind the East Coast. The state largely conducts its elections by mail.

Polling places can open as early as 5:45 a.m., but they are required to stay open for at least 13 hours, according to Ballotpedia.
