Pizza shop worker finds dog stuffed in garbage bag

WARNING – DISTURBING CONTENT: A New South Wales pizza shop worker is demanding answers after she found the body of a dog dumped in a public car park bin.

Harriet Haebich said she opened the dumpster Thursday night outsidea pizza restaurant where she works, in Mulwala, near the Victorian and NSW border.

“We were shocked to find this poor blue staffy at work tonight when we opened the bin,” she wrote on Facebook Friday morning, sharing two shocking pictures of the dead dog.

One of the images showed the animal covered in a black garbage bag. The second revealed the body of a dog with a swollen stomach, which Ms Haebich suggested indicated the dog was either pregnant or had been recently.

“She appears to be pregnant and or just had pups (despite the deceased bloating).”

The woman implored the community to help her find who the dog belonged to, and pressure the authorities to investigate what led to the animal’s death.

“Please, if anyone knows somebody selling blue staffy pups, or someone who suddenly no longer has their dog, let us know,” she wrote.

“We are having her checked for a microchip, and hope to find the heartless individual that thinks a car park bin was a good resting place.”

On Ms Haebich’s post, she claimed the RSPCA, police, and a council park ranger were unable to help, as the animal was already deceased.

She has not yet responded to a Yahoo7 News request for more information at the time of writing, however RSPCA New South Wales confirmed the organisation was looking into the incident.

“We have received a report and the incident is being investigated by an inspector,” an RSPCA NSW spokesperson said.

Police advised the incident was a matter for the local council, unless a formal report was received.

The Federation Council has also been contacted for comment.
