Passenger slaps young cyclist after he pulls out in front of car
A cyclist has been filmed receiving a slap on the face after a near miss with a car.
Video uploaded by Dash Cam Network to YouTube shows the boy riding his bike across the road along with a group of others in Manchester, England.
The group of about four boys cross into the path of oncoming traffic a number of times.
Two cars are forced to put on the brakes as one of the cyclists crosses and rides down a street.
The others watch on. One of them then pedals out into the centre of the road and into the path of a Ford hatchback, which is forced to brake abruptly.
The boy doesn’t complete the crossing and turns back to the footpath. The Ford comes to a complete stop and a passenger, said to be a woman, steps out and smacks the boy in the face before driving off.
The video has more than 12,000 views on YouTube but it has divided viewers as to whether a slap was warranted.
One viewer wrote the slap was “fully deserved” as a crash between the cyclist and the car could have been fatal.
“Well done that driver – he might think twice before playing chicken with traffic is a no no,” another commented.
“Better a slap than a body bag.”

However, others said the slap “can’t be justified”.
“It makes me sad that so many people here think it’s OK,” one man wrote.
Another claims he reported the passenger for assault and took down the licence plate number.
“Despite how stupid the kid is, I still don’t think it is right to slap them,” another viewer wrote.
“Despite the fact that we would all want to, you just should not.”
