One person has died in a light plane crashed in regional Victoria.
The plane, a Cessna 172, crashed near Ballarat about 3.30pm, Victoria Police say.

It is understood the pilot died at the scene and an emergency beacon was activated at the time of the incident near Old Melbourne Road in Millbrook.
