A police officer in Pennsylvania who is facing rape charges allegedly told his victim he did not “intentionally rape” her, police say, according to reports.
Justin Hain, 38, an officer with the Steelton Borough police, is accused of raping a woman on Jan. 10, ABC 27, WHP and WGAL reported, citing Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident occurred when the 25-year-old woman was feeding her child, police allege, ABC 27 reported.
Hain has been charged with sexual assault, rape and indecent assault among other offenses, according to online court records reviewed by PEOPLE.
Hain, who knows the woman, allegedly approached her with a “weird grin” on his face after she came out of the shower that afternoon, Penn Live reported, citing an affidavit.
The woman reportedly told him she “absolutely” did not want to be touched, according to charging documents cited by WGAL.
Police claim Hain then proceeded to sexually assault her, forcing her head into the couch so that she was unable to move, charging documents allege, according to Penn Live.
Following the incident, the woman allegedly called Hain on the phone, which was recorded by police, according to a criminal complaint, ABC 27 reported.
On the phone call, he allegedly said, “I didn’t intentionally rape you,” ABC 27 and Penn Live reported, citing police reports.
He also allegedly said that he was aware she was “not into it” and that it was “probably” one of his “deplorables, one of my things,” according to the police reports, as reported by Penn Live.

“The bravery of the victim is imperative and is remarkable,” Dauphin County District Attorney Francis Chardo told ABC 27. “She did a phenomenal job in bringing about justice so that someone else won’t be victimized.”
Hain, who was in the police department for just two months at the time of the incident, has been suspended from the force, Steelton Mayor Ciera Dent has said, according to ABC 27 and WGAL.
His bond was set at $50,000, and WGAL reported he was released on bond. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has entered a plea. An attorney listed in court filings did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for further information.
