'It's an embarrassment': Crude note left on campervan parked in affluent suburb

A number of people have weighed in on a crude note left on a camper van parked in the street of an affluent Sydney suburb.

Dannielle Miller said a friend noticed the Winnebago parked in Mosman on the weekend. She posted pictures on Twitter showing a number of notes plastered to the vehicle's windshield.

"Attention," one of them reads. "Could you please move this piece of s*** off our road. It's an embarrassment to residents."

But the debate didn't end there, with Ms Miller added "this is peak Mosman" with another note added to the windshield.

"'This vehicle may not be pretty, but what is certainly ugly are the comments attached to it," the second note reads.

"As a resident of this street for the last 20 years I have driven, walked and ridden past this vehicle over the past little while with a small smile on my face, wondering what interesting human tale lies behind its sojourn here."

The letter speculates that the "sojourn" might include a trip around Australia and that "anything less than that would seem a waste of such an adventurous vehicle".

"Shake from your wheels the dust of the rude, the presumptuous, and the arrogant and take with you the well wishes of most people, who probably look at the vehicle and say, 'Imagine…'"

Finally, the owners of the Winnebago weighed in and left a letter for whoever wrote the first note and explained the vehicle had been "vandalised".

The owners claim to be residents on the street.

"We are parked temporarily while we pack and ready ourselves for a trip around Australia this year," the owners wrote.

"If you have a problem with our vehicle parked on our road please come and chat to us rather than vandalise our property."

'"Ironically we were going to leave on our trip this morning, however we have to put out trip back a few days so we could attend the scattering of ashes for a close friend.

"Perhaps it may take another day so we can clean off the mess you made."

The final note concludes by saying that although "Winnie" the Winnebago is "a large eyesore", the owners would appreciate residents express their grief over the camper van in a more polite way.
