Six-year-old boy stable after being hit by car outside Sydney school
A six-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Sydney’s inner west.
The student was struck right outside the Haberfield Public School during the parent pick-up on Wednesday afternoon, in front of shocked teachers and classmates.
Paramedics called for the Careflight helicopter, which landed on the school’s oval, to assist in treating the boy.
The six-year-old was then taken by ambulance to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
“He had a big bruise on his head and some cuts and bruises,” one witness said.
“He was pretty upset, obviously because he was in a bit of shock.”
The driver of the car was breath-tested and given the all clear.
Police confirmed the motorist was travelling at low speed when the boy was struck.
According to a hospital spokesperson, the boy is in a stable condition in hospital.
