'Drunk' school run mum accused of assault

FIRST ON 7: A Sydney mother is facing several charges after allegedly drink-driving before crashing into several cars at a school in Menai.

She had gone to pick up her child, but ended up in custody accused of assaulting police.

Moments after crashing her car the woman battled with officers, who were trying to arrest her.

The entire ordeal was witnessed by schoolchildren on a nearby bus. She is accused of kicking, scratching and biting police.

The 37-year-old crashed her car into several vehicles outside Holy Family Primary School in Menai, during yesterday's school pick-up.

"She was driving fast towards kids and everyone was really scared," one witness said.

"I heard a woman scream out of the carpark and went into another lady's car just across the road."

Police say she blew point 0.335 in a breath-test, that's nearly seven times the legal limit.

Her young child was in the car at the time.

Parents are outraged.

"It's disgusting. She should lose her license," a local mother said.

The woman has been charged with drink driving, negligent driving and six counts of assaulting police.

She is due to face court in two weeks.
