Nitro Circus rider defends tossing his pet goat into the air 'like basketball'

A Gold Coast stunt rider has come under fire after sharing a video of himself launching his pet goat metres into the air.

Harry Bink, who is a part of Australia’s Nitro Circus contingent, is being investigated by RSPCA Queensland after vision of the single handed goat toss sparked a furious response from his social media following.

Michael Beatty from Queensland RSPCA labelled the stunt as “an incredible act of stupidity”.

“You don’t treat an animal as if it’s a basketball,” Mr Beatty said.

After deleting the vision from his account, the remorseful rider again took to social media to defend himself – insisting that he was never out to harm the goat.

“I don’t abuse my goats… he didn’t seem scared at the time,” Bink told his followers.

“I was mucking around, I threw it in the air, I caught it, I put it on the ground, it wasn’t harmed.

“He didn’t seem scared at the time, I appreciate the feedback, it’s not going to happen again.”

Kirk Fanning, from Farm Animal Rescue Australia, questioned the claim that it was “just a bit of fun”, saying the throw could have seriously injured the baby goat.

“You can risk bone damage, ligament damage, brain damage from the sudden motion of up and down,” Mr Fanning added.

Bink went on to ask his social media users to “go easy” on him in the comment section and pleaded with them to stop tagging his sponsors.

“I obviously have a different perspective of fun as I throw myself around in the air like that for a living… give us a break.”
