A convicted rapist jailed over an horrific attack on a woman in a nightclub cubicle has been sentenced over a “library” of secretly recorded videos of naked women and a couple having sex.

Aref Pandamooz was sentenced to seven years jail with a four-year non-parole period in April last year for the rape and aggravated sexual assault in a Sydney nightclub in 2019.

The 35-year-old was sentenced on Tuesday to a separate aggregate sentence of six months for 10 counts of filming people’s private parts without consent.

The charges were laid after police uncovered the vile stash on his iPhone following his arrest for an “unrelated matter”.

Court documents reveal Pandamooz, a former rideshare driver, was living in Ryde in 2020 when he began his “predatory” campaign, repeatedly filming people without their consent.

From March, Pandamooz secretly recorded a woman through her bathroom window without her consent no less than 15 times, including before and after she showered and got changed.

On May 7, Pandamooz filmed five videos of the naked woman, before filming another woman through her bedroom window. Minutes later, he returned to again film the first woman.

He also secretly filmed a couple through a bedroom window at their home in Denistone East where they lived with their young child as they had sex.

Upon his arrest, Pandamooz denied a recorded interview after speaking to his lawyer, with his offences being described by officers as being “predatory and commanding”.

Police could not charge over all the videos found on his phone, including of other young women, given the statute of limitations had expired.

“It is apparent that the accused preyed on all the victims. Given the similar timings of each recorded video, (Pandamooz) was well aware of their routines,” documents state.

“Further videos on his mobile phone show videos of other young females in similar situations.

“Police are unable to proceed with these matters criminally (due) to the statute of limitation lapsing.

“Police will allege (Pandamooz) has built a library of videos for his own sexual gratification, which is of extreme concern … These incidents have caused all victims to feel intimidated and fearful.”
