A 15-year-old girl, one of two teenagers accused of mugging a man they arranged to meet through Facebook marketplace, has pleaded guilty.

The girl, along with a 13-year-old, allegedly snatched the 43-year-old man’s iPhone 12 Pro Max he had been planning to sell to one of the pair when they met in the northern Perth suburb of Banksia Grove on July 9.

Police allege the girls ran off, but the man gave chase, before the teenagers allegedly produced knives and slashed the man to the head several times. He was taken to hospital for treatment, needing 10 staples and two sutures on three wounds.

The girls, who can’t be named for legal reasons, reappeared in Perth Children’s Court on Monday, each charged with aggravated armed robbery and unlawful wounding.

The girls, who can’t be named for legal reasons, reappeared in Perth Children’s Court on Monday, each charged with aggravated armed robbery and unlawful wounding.

The 15-year-old appeared on Monday afternoon, where she entered pleas of guilty to 10 charges, with her sentencing set for September 12.

The 13-year-old, her co-accused, appeared over the phone earlier on Monday, and her case was put back to next Monday for further negotiations between her defence and the prosecution, the court heard.

In a previous appearance, the court was told the 15-year-old had a “horrendous record for violence” and was on bail at the time of the alleged incident.

While the younger teen was granted bail, the 15-year-old was refused bail and remanded in custody at Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre.

CCTV vision from the alleged incident shows adults shouting at the man as he ran after the girls, one neighbour urging him to “leave them alone” and asking what they’d done.

“She stole my phone and sliced my head” the man says as he runs past a bystander.
