Teenager, 18, dies after falling from balcony during Schoolies
A 18-year-old Schoolie from Sydney has died on the Gold Coast after falling from a balcony.
The teenager was alone when he fell from the 10th floor of the Surf Regency Apartments on Laycock Street in Surfers Paradise.
Emergency crews were called to the pool area about 5am and performed CPR, but they could not save him.
At this stage police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Witnesses say the Turramurra High School graduate was staying with a group of friends who have now cut their celebrations short and returned to Sydney.
Red Frogs are offering counselling to the schoolies.
Police are investigating whether the teen had been inhaling nitrous oxide canisters before the incident.
They are also preparing a report for the Coroner.
