Shocking Sydney Airport photos reveal 'total nightmare'
Sydney Airport has been thrown into chaos again on Monday morning after heavy morning fog and a "technical issue" caused lengthy delays for travellers.
It comes after months of mayhem for Aussies who've experienced ongoing disarray at airports across the country due to staff shortages and "inexperienced travellers" during times of increased demand for flights.
Photos from the airport this morning show massive lines stretching outside the airport doors and down the road, leaving hundreds of passengers braving the cold.
One frustrated passenger shared his experience on Twitter alongside photos detailing the agonising wait many are facing.
"My Sydney Airport journey so far. I’ll probably be in the queue to get through security longer than I’m in the air," he Tweeted.
"Sydney Airport was a total nightmare this morning," Tweeted another.
In a social media post, Qantas warned those flying with the airline to expect delays on some flights. About a dozen flights have already been affected, the ABC reported.

A spokesperson for Sydney Airport said the fog impacted the airport earlier this morning causing 20 to 40 minute delays. The fog has since lifted. But a technical issue is now to blame for increasing delays, and it's not yet known how long it might take to ease.
"We’re sorry about the queues and are working with airlines to get everyone on their way," a spokesperson for Sydney Airport told Yahoo News Australia.
"Heavy fog affected flights earlier this morning, and a technical issue has meant we’re temporarily operating one less security lane than normal in T2 Domestic."
