Popular cheeses sold across Australia recalled over listeria fears


A widespread recall has been issued on an assortment of cheeses due to potential listeria contamination.

Washed Rind is recalling washed mould cheeses St Simeon (200g), Le Coulommiers (400g), Coulommiers Truffle (750g) and Brie de Nangis (1kg) from delis, cheeserooms, IGAs and independent stores.

The cheese was sold in South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

The best-before dates range between February 18 to May 17, 2019.

Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund, Food Standards Australia New Zealand said.

Listeria can cause health issues for pregnant women and their unborn children, the elderly and people with low immune systems.
